BBQ Spaghetti | Leftover Ribs Recipe

BBQ Spaghetti | Leftover Ribs Recipe

Never let those tasty smoked rib scraps go to waste - this BBQ spaghetti recipe is perfect for the day after the cookout. Such a creative idea by Alan Schones of @dralansbbq !

You Will Need

The Prep

Let's be real - cooking with yesterday's leftovers usually does not come with a lot of expectations. But this spaghetti recipe with rib meat made us reconsider. We would definitely be looking forward to this after having a cookout!

The recipe itself is easy to execute. Minimal prepwork is needed - measure out your ingredients, get the meat off the bones and chop into small chunks, and smash & chop the garlic clove. Dice the onion and bell peppers into 1/4 inch cubes as well.

The Cook

Let's get right to it! Heat up some butter andn olive oil in a skillet, until the butter melts. Add your crushed garlic, onion, and bell peppers. Cook those untili they soften up, and the onion becomes slightly translucent.

Next, you'll want to add the diced rib meat. Cook it with your veggies until it is warm throughout - should only take a few minutes. Then add the BBQ sauce, and turn the heat down to a low heat, and let it simmer. Stir occasionally to prevent anything from sticking to the skillet.

While the sauce is coming together, bring a pot of water up to a boil and cook your spaghetti noodles according to the directions (or to your liking).

The Payoff

When the pasta is done cooking, drain the noodles, saving about 1/2 cup of pasta water. Add this water to the sauce and let it simmer for 5 more minutes.

Finally, mix the spaghetti into the sauce, and bring off the heat. Serve with some garlic parm dust for the extra kick, and with a side of cheddar toasted bread.

Enjoy!
